Harry Farr Share "Harry Farr" on FacebookHitchin born Harry turned out for Hitchin Union Jack but, as an amateur, got called up to play for the Town on occasion.
A goalkeeper by choice he played in goal in the final game of the 1898-99 season in a 2-0 home win over Lincoln and kept a clean sheet. Bizarrely, his second appearance, came at centre-half in a 1-0 defeat at Bristol City in December 1900. His third, and final, appearance came back in goal in a 3-0 defeat at West Ham in January 1902.
Called up for Bedfordshire Senior Cup games by the Town he won four medals, two as a goalkeeper and two as centre-half!
Harry finished his playing career at the newly formed Southend United.
