Liam Hatch

Liam Morris Adam Hatch Date of Birth: Apr 3, 1982

Born in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Sometimes a defender but mainly a striker, Liam started his football career with Ramsgate followed by spells at Herne Hay and Gravesend and Northfleet (later named Ebbsfleet) but it was a move to Barnet that launched his career. 144 appearances and 45 goals drew the interest of Peterborough United and a £150,000 fee secured his services in January 2008. Injury and limited playing opportunities meant few first team appearances and he went on loan twice to Darlington.

At the start of the first season in the Conference, 2009/10, Liam, at 6 foot 3 inches, was brought in to partner Tom Craddock up front. However an injury meant his debut was delayed untilt he 12th September against Barrow at Kenilworth Road when he came on as a late substitute. His full debut came in the next game, a 3 0 defeat away to Wrexham. Sent off at Cambridge and then injured again, it was not until the 30th January 2010 that he scored his first goal in a 3 2 home defeat to Ebbsfleet. His last game came in the 1 0 home defeat to York City on the 3rd May.

Liam returned to Peterborough then rejoined Darlington at first on loan then permanently making 42 appearances and scoring 10 goals. Naturally he scored for them against the Hatters in a 2 2 draw in September 2010. He was in the Darlington side that won the F.A. Trophy in 2011 beating Mansfield Town 1 0 at Wembley.

In January 2012 he signed for Gateshead and of course he scored against the Hatters in both games - the away game being the infamous 5 1 defeat played at Brunton Park, Carlisle in front of 382 fans including 126 Hatters.

Released in 2014 Liam had spells with Darlington 1883 and Sunderland RCA.
