Steve Elliott

Stephen Blain Elliott Date of Birth: Sep 15, 1958

A true journeyman striker, Steve started off as an apprentice at Nottingham Forest but to get regular football accepted a move to Preston where his career took off.

Managing 70 goals in over 200 League appearances for Preston, Steve hankered after a move up the football ladder but was surprised when a bid from top flight Luton took him to Kenilworth Road in 1984.

Steve knocked in six goals in 15 starts for the Hatters but became surplus to requirements when Luton wanted David Preece from Walsall and the Saddlers insisted on Steve as part of the deal.

This move then became one of many for Steve as he continued to bang in the goals for Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Guiseley. Steve then beacme a Leisure Centre manager for South Ribble Borough Council.
