Thomas Wilson

Thomas Taylor Wilson

Born in Alnwick in 1888, Thomas had spent four seasons at Middlesbrough making only 10 appearances in that time before joining Hearts in 1911.

After a year in Edinburgh he was invited to come to Luton just as the club was about to enter into Southern League Division Two. Thomas was a robust centre-half who took no prisoners and missed only one game in 1912-13.

For the following season the Town decided on a more scientific style of play which marginalised Thomas leading to him only playing when the selectors wanted someone who could get ‘stuck in’.

After making only 12 appearances between 1913-15 his contract was cancelled and he joined the Durham Light Infantry.
