The first derby game between the two clubs since 1972 appears to be heading for a boring 0-0 draw when Hatters’ full-back, Kirk Stephens, drifts upfield and, at the far post, heads home a long cross from Hatton for his first goal for the Town. Earlier, Stein saw his shot rebound off the bar.

FEATURED MATCH

hatters' heritage SPOTLIGHT

A versatile entertainer, he'd had chart hits in the 1960s as part of the Migil 5 and acting roles in Widows and The Bill in the 1980s.

The Town nipped in before he had put pen to paper and brought him to Kenilworth Road in March 1930. Looked on as a great prospect as a goalscoring inside-forward, Billy was handed his debut on the opening day of the 1930-31 campaign but failed to impress and made way for Jimmy Yardley.
Leaving at the season’s end, Billy had an unsuccessful trial at Gateshead before putting things right with Colchester Town

WHAT YOU CAN DO
The Heritage Lottery Fund enabled us to launch the website which we believe is the most comprehensive of any club in the country.
Whilst we benefit from the unpaid work of volunteers, we need funds to pay for hosting and maintaining the website, insurance of the memorabilia collection and various licenses such as Adobe. We also need to build up a fund to purchase important memorabilia.
