John Charles Lomax Date of Birth: Oct 22, 1864 Share "John Charles Lomax" on FacebookThe oldest of the three Lomax brothers, JC was born in Sale in 1864 and was sent with his brothers to board at St John’s College in Luton where he joined Luton Wanderers as a small, pacy winger with outstanding dribbling skills.
A prime mover in the formation of the club in 1885 he continued to play for the Town, and occasionally for St Albans, until 1892 by which time he was club President and also an FA Councillor.
Sadly, due to poor investments by his wife he was made bankrupt in 1892 and the next we hear of him is when he passed away, a pauper, in South Africa in 1933.
